semana dos: hear him

sagrada vaca im already starting semana tres?????🐮😇 wow so so much keeps happening PERO this weeks email i will try not to keep long :))

side notes :))

-teaching: holy cowwww (sagrada vaca) !!! i don't think i have ever been so nervous in my entire life. I feel like I most definitely forget all words in Spanish and in English when we have to teach. We started teaching for the first time this past week and I wanted to vomit!!! the nervousness definitely gets to you. HOWEVER you can feel the spirit even if you have no clue what they are talking about. Their smiles light up the screen and you know they have a testimony. Currently, its been just members we are teaching, but soon enough we will get to the non members and crap I might actually puke. Just gotta trust in god and know that everything will be okay.

-memorization: I MEMORIZED THE 4 THINGS THEY WANTED US TO MEMORIZE WOOHOOOOO!!! so i memorized the missionary purpose, the baptismal invitation, moroni 10:5, and the first vision !! it was A LOTTTT of work and a lot of time mi y mi companera took to get these memorized, but we did it and hopefully we can keep remembering it!!

-kahoot: In my defense you really shouldn't play kahoot early in the morning when you are exhausted and yeah...so here comes the funnies. I have literally no idea what the days and the weeks are in Spanish. I just started learning them because its kinda something we just have to on our own. soooo, as one does while playing kahoot they just guess lol. and i said to my companion "cant get this wrong!!!" thinking i totally had it in the bag and I knew that it was right. NOOOOO. Ya girl literally chose "Martes" which means TUESDAY NOT MARCH!! ohhhh major sad moment. Then as one does early in the morning totally has a forgetful moment and finally understands my CINCO DE MAYO MEANS THE FIFTH OF MAY. oh heavens pray for me because i got a LOT of work to do haha!

MY COMPANION: literally is an angel. I know I say it all the time but it is TRUE!! She is such a great cheerleader and mood booster. Sometimes I think we laugh more than we get more done. JK! We balance it out pretty well. We have the best of times and I cannot believe I only have a couple more weeks left with her. IM GOING TO CRYYYYY. anyway shoutout to her because i love her and shes amazing :,)) just wish she would get REASSIGNED TO MY MISSION ALREADY OKAY?????

Spanish: You know, I have my HARD days where I just want to cry every second because i do not understand what anyone is saying in Spanish at all. Then, i have days where my teacher literally tells me how much they love seeing me and AC so happy together and working so hard and saying that they have seen not only her grow in Spanish, but me grow too. Those days make me feel so good & help me know that through the gift of tongues and trusting in myself, all things can happen. Its okay to have those sad days, but you also have to believe that it will get better. You will understand. You will be able to speak the language. You wont be perfect in your language yet and that's okay.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHTS:

-awake from your spiritual slumber & choose Christ every day. When we talked about this i absolutely LOVED it!!

-stay longer with Christ. Christ is compassionate, kind, loving, friendly, sensitive, helpful, healer, our redeemer, and understanding of us all. he knows our needs. just LISTEN for him. RECOGNIZE his hand in our life.

-COME UNTO CHRIST AND BE PERFECTED IN HIM!!!!

-this last week, we had a devotional by Brent Nielson. Him and his wife gave an amazing devotional on how we need to Hear Him.

here are a couple things his wife said that I enjoyed :

-- us being called on a mission is the opportunity for us to hear God's voice SO loudly and clear. We need to accept his call to serve and HEAR HIM. She gave a story on how she is hard of hearing. Before she got hearing aids, she didn't know she would need them. she didn't know she couldn't hear that well. We all don't know that. After she went to the doctors and got her hearing aids she realized HOW MUCH she was missing. We need to be able to pick up our spiritual ears and tune our hearing so that we may hear him. Hear him calling out to us, preaching to us, guiding us, and so much more. It is our opportunity and desire to serve him.

from Brent Nielson:

--use your mission to increase your hearing. Missionaries right now in these days are heroes and will be for a long time because of our willingness to serve in the hard times, especially a pandemic. We are part of a great gathering across the world. When he was in seminary there were only 12 temples, NOW WE HAVE SOOOO MANY!!! ISNT THAT INSANE?! we are all in the middle of a miracle taking place. He shared a story from 2014/2015 when Elder Nielsen( now our beloved prophet) introduced the idea that ALL missionaries need smartphones. Random right??? NOPE!!! who would've known, that 6 years later THIS is why. We are finding, teaching, learning all over a phone. REVELATION IS SO REAL. They were inspired to do this and so many other things and it just makes me so happy to be apart of this. :,)) I LOVE THIS GOSPEL! God is watching over us and is helping us missionaries every day! Another cool miracle he mentioned was how they got everyone back to their home countries from wherever they were. 31,000 missionaries were brought home. when everything was shut down and closed. He was grateful for the relationships they had made with other countries in order for this to happen. Ahhh it was so cool to hear him talk about it because the spirit was SO STRONG.
